The Acting President of the Musicians Union of Ghana, MUSIGA, Bessa Simons has stated that industry stakeholders in Ghana owe to the generation as much as the music business is concerned.
Bessa Simons who is one of the legends of Highlife music in Ghana made this known on the ‘E-Drive’ show on Dikoder TV.
When he was asked by the host if MUSIGA has built a strong support system for Ghanaian musicians, Bessa Simons admitted that the union has tried in their efforts in making the careers of the musician better but he is taking steps in ensuring that the support systems of which some is already existent are solidified enough for progress.
He pointed out that a pension scheme for musicians and their own health insurance and according to him, MUSIGA will become powerful so much that a non-member will struggle in his career plying his trade in Ghana.
