A chief in Adwumako Asaasa was attacked by unknown gunmen whilst he was being paraded in the township following a durbar.
According to a correspondent of Accra-based Adom FM, the chief known as Nana Kwame Asuman VI was paraded in the township in his hometown en route to the traditional council where he will be sworn in.
However, it turned out that not everybody was in support of his enstoolment as whilst he was dancing on his palanquin, some unknown men opened fire at him from the bush.
The reporter claimed that the yet-to-be chief was immediately lowered down by the men who carried him to prevent him getting hit by the bullet and according to the reporter, the police help in providing protection for Nana Kwame Asuman and he escaped the attack unhurt.
