The High Commissioner to UK, Paapa Owusu Ankomah was thrown into a state of shock after award winning Dancehall singer, Stonebwoy revealed the amount of money he as received from GHAMRO, a royalty collection organization in Ghana.
Like all other copyright societies, GHAMRO is a non-profit corporate body (limited by guarantee) and therefore all fees collected are distributed among the right owners whose works have been used, in this instance composers, authors and producers, publishers in proportion to the use made of their works.
But it seems they didn’t give Stonebwoy what was due him for all the years he has been entertaining fans with good music.
The High Commission to the UK Papa Owusu- Ankomah screamed when Stonebwoy told him that GHAMRO paid him only GH2,000.00 cedis for all his hard work.
